Win Your Wedding 2009

Ten couples held their breath at our 2009 Wedding Fair on Sunday 29th March as they waited to hear the winner of the Win Your Wedding competition.

Over 3,500 readers of the Somerset County Gazette voted for the couple they thought were most deserving of the biggest prize in the paper’s history – a £20,000 wedding.

CONGRATULATIONS to David Hartnell and Gemma Payne, both 25, from Taunton who were the couple with the most votes and have won the wedding of their dreams.

The young couple said they were “amazed” to have won the prize and thanked everyone for voting for them as well as David’s mum who nominated them for the competition.

Wendy and Jonathan Joseph from Wellington’s Mama Stones announced the winner.

All finalists were presented with a goody bag from the County Gazette, Taunton School Weddings and Buff Urban Day Spa.
